6/1/14 Macrae-Gibson Architects is awarded two UPK Facilities
Macrae-Gibson is awarded a commission to design two universal prekindergarten facilities as part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s UPK initiative. They are scheduled to be completed for occupancy in September 2015. In total the facilities will provide places for 252 four year olds.

Macrae-Gibson Architects is a winner in this year’s Queens Chamber of Commerce Building Awards

Macrae-Gibson Architects is a winner in this year’s Queens Chamber of Commerce Building Awards competition for the recently completed PS 196 in Forrest Hills.

The award is given for excellence in design for the betterment of the community.

The project involved construction of a 46,000 sq ft new addition to a classic 1952 modernist school, as well as extensive renovation of the original facility. The total student capacity of the school is 1,129 children.

Macrae-Gibson Architects is awarded an international architecture award by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The award was given for the PS234 link project in Tribeca, Lower Manhattan.

Concrete superstructure is topped out on M-GA's new row of three townhouses. 
1/31/13 Groundbreaking ceremony held at PS 313, Sunnyside, Queens
New York City politicians including NYC assemblywoman Cathy Nolan, NYC councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer and State Senator Michael Gianaris attend the groundbreaking for PS 313Q. The $44m project will  be completed in the fall of 2014 
1/24/13 PS 170, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn reaches 60% completion deadline.
Macrae-Gibson Architects completes the 60% submittal construction documentation for PS 170. Construction of the K-5 addition will include extensive renovation of the existing 1913 historic school building. The bid date is set for early May 2013.

Macrae-Gibson Architects completes Design Development drawings and receives approval from the New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for the proposed PS 170 addition.

10/5/12 Macrae-Gibson Architect’s New school at PS 313 in Sunnyside is awarded to Citnalta Construction.
The New York City School Construction Authority announces bid award for PS 313 to Citnalta Construction and construction commences. Completion is scheduled for  Fall 2014. 
9/1/12 110-120 East 76th St construction trades are fully awarded.
 The triplex townhouse project superstructure work reaches first floor level. Excavation, shoring, bracing, underground utilities and cellar work is completed.
6/10/12 Macrae-Gibson Architects is awarded the commission for an addition to PS 170K in Bayside, Brooklyn.
The New York City School Construction Authority announces Macrae-Gibson Architects as the successful competition winner of a 49,000 SF addition for Kindergarten through 5th grade students at PS 170 in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The project will include a new gymnasium, library, music and art suites, kindergarten and other grade classrooms, student dining room and kitchen, new Early Childhood plays pace and main play yard. Extensive renovations will also be undertaking in the existing building, a listed New York State historic building erected in 1913 by C.B.J. Snyder.

M-GA completes the construction documents for a new 75,000 SF kindergarten through 5th grade school to commence construction on a through-block site in Sunnyside, Queens in 2012.

9/1/2011 Addition to PS 196Q, Forest Hills, Queens, New York opens.

M-GA completes the 45,000 SF addition to PS 196Q in Forest Hills, New York, a kindergarten through 5th grade school and children and staff move in on the first day of school. Renovation work continues in the original building.

8/1/2011 Truman High School Swimming Pool complex, Baychester Avenue, Bronx, New York, reaches substantial completion.

M-GA achieves substantial completion of the extensive swimming pool complex renovation at the North East Bronx Education Park campus, of which Truman High School is the largest component facility. The main pool is a six lane, 172,700 gallon, 75' 0" high school competition pool. The pool complex is shared by the other four facilities of the campus.

7/26/2011 PS 165, Manhattan begins construction

A contractor is selected for construction to begin on the restoration of the historic 1897 PS 165M, a New York State Historic Preservation Office listing structure designed by C.B.J. Snyder in a Collegiate Gothic style of cream brick and glazed terra cotta with red terra cotta shingled roof.

6/1/2011 110-120 East 76th St., New York, begins construction.

M-GA receives LPC approval for demolition of six existing townhouses, and construction commences on the project to replace them with three new single family townhouses. The facade is braced with a steel structure to preserve it prior to restoration.

8/1/2010 Macrae-Gibson Architects wins competition for new public school.

M-GA wins the competition to design a new 75,000 SF Kindergarten through 5th grade public school in Sunnyside, Queens. The site is an empty through block between 42nd and 43rd Avenues. Construction is anticipated for 2012.

M-GA receives NYC Landmark Preservation Commission approval for three new 15,000 SF town houses to be built behind an existing 1883 brownstone facade, which will be preserved and restored.
